Yes, of course! However, I highly encourage you to use and learn the keyboard. You don't have to be good at this. The keyboard is truly the composer/arranger's best instrument, after the ear.

So I encourage you, as you would in any university environment, to use the keyboard. If your skills are very limited, that's okay because the beginner lessons are designed to progress not only with the theory presented but also regarding sight reading, writing, and ear training.

Solid musicianship is essential for a good composer.

I always advise my students to write at the beginning for many reasons. Writing will give you clarity that using a DAW won't. It's that simple.

The knowledge and clarity you gain from writing translate beautifully to working in your DAW, but not vice versa.

So, to learn really well, writing is second to none.

Next, you will simply use your DAW and see the benefits of being able to write.

It's impossible to answer. There are too many variables, and everyone will be different. If we compare the platform's contents to a course of study at a conservatory, a three-year period would not be enough, but it would be extremely subjective.

We might miss, of course, and never hit the goal, but there's no point in doing anything other than aiming for the center of the goal!
